Murphy is an award-winning screenwriter, widely published author, and ghostwriter. Talented, curious, and highly versatile, he can inhabit almost any genre and adapt his style to any individual voice. He specializes in bringing his clients’ stories and concepts to life through heightened narratives, soulful characterizations, crackling dialogue, and irreverent humor.

His first book, Starting Your Career as an Interior Designer (Allworth Press | Random House) was named one of the “Best ‘How To’ Books of the Year” by Library Journal and was such a success it spawned a series of books for his clients and is taught in universities around the United States. Murphy’s latest book, Let’s Go Mad: A Year Abroad in Search of Utopia and Enlightenment, was acquired by Skyhorse Publishing (Perseus Books Group) and published in 2016. He was also a ghostwriter on a humorous political commentary book that will be published in late 2016 by Hachette Book Group.

Murphy has an impressive business-writing background, having spent seven years as a Senior Communications Manager and speechwriter for Charles Schwab, Inc. where he created executive communications and strategic messaging platforms for the CEO, five Retail Presidents and the Senior Leadership Team.

Murphy is also the filmmaker behind the acclaimed comedy short, World Bender, which was a hit at the 2014 Friars Club Comedy Film Festival and is being developed into a television series. Before that, he created dozens of TV series for Rehab, an independent production company, and was the resident film blogger for 7×7.com where his blog Hooker’s Reel attracted more than 2 million hits a year. Murphy was also a comedy writer on the television show, Hello World, and has written creative content for digital platforms Crackle, Fox Digital Studio, Dish Network, HuffPost, and brands Charles Schwab, eBay and Gap, Inc.
